Aston
Martin DB5
Probably the most famous of all Bond's cars, the
Aston Martin DB5 (registration number LU 6789 or
BMT216A or 4711-EA-62). It appeared in
Goldfinger, Thunderball and for a
brief high speed race in Goldeneye
(registration number BMT214A). Q's modifications
included two forward firing machine guns, smoke
screen, oil slicks, an ejector seat
and radar tracking system. A bullet proof shield
protected the rear window, while revolving
number plates made the car untraceable. |

Lotus
Esprit
Lotus Esprit (registration number PPW306R).

charges, rear firing mud sprayers, underwater
smoke screens and torpedoes. |
 |
Lotus
Esprit Turbo
Bond also had a white Lotus Turbo Esprit
(registration number OPW 654W) in For Your Eyes Only, but
the anti-theft device incorporated by Q-branch
was perhaps a little too effective. Later in the
film, he drove a red Turbo Esprit (registration
number OPW 678W). |

With Love, Bond's classic Bentley is
equipped with a car phone which was years ahead

BMW Z8
The BMW Z8 variant features in The World Is
Not Enough. Although R mentions to Bond that
it is fitted with a number of gadgets only a
couple are seen in the film. Whilst at Valentin
Zukovsky’s caviar factory, Bond activates the
BMW remote, automatically depressing the
handbrake and driving closer to Bonds position.
Once inside, Bond targets and activates a
surface-to-air missile destroying one of the
King Helicopters. Meanwhile the second of the
helicopters is busy cutting the wooden pier
behind Bonds BMW in half. The helicopter then
proceeds to cut through the BMW Z8 with ease. |
 |
BMW 750i
The BMW 750i makes an incredible appearance in
Tomorrow Never Dies. Apart from classic
Q-branch extras, the BMW operated by remote
cellular telephone. The car was best
remembered for its ability to endure the most
brutal attacks. The BMW's short life ends with a
leap from the top floor of a parking building.
Fortunately Q calculated such use by 007 and had
prepared a lucrative collision insurance package |
 |
Aston Martin
V12 Vanquish
Featured In Die Another Day (2002). For
the 20th James Bond film James Bond once again
drives an Aston Martin. He is introduced to the
Aston during the scene with R in an underground
station. Bond is impressed when R demonstrates
the cars Adaptive Camouflage – tiny cameras on
all sides project the image they see onto a
light emitting polymer skin on the opposite side
– making the car almost invisible to the naked
eye.

Golden Gun. The Hornet was particularly

 |
Citroen
2CV
Featured in For Your Eyes Only. Bond
used Melina Havleock's Citroen 2CV (registration

help 007 and Melina escape. |

A Mercedes (registration number BT 36-72)

to outrun the German BMW police cars and arrive
just in time to terminate the bomb. |
 |
Renault 11
In A View To A Kill, 007 commandeered a
French taxi driver's Renault 11 in order to

parachuting from the Eiffel Tower. The Renault
had its roof chopped off, and then its body cut
in half. Still Bond was able to drive the car to
where the assassin landed. |
 |
Ford Fairlane
The Ford Fairlane appears In Die Another
Day (2002). Bond is given use of this car
when he asks Raoul for a ‘fast car’. Only seen

any gadgets, it looks charismatic especially
with Bond in the drivers seat.
